Go Grey in May: 5K Your Way for Brain Tumor Awareness Month

This May, during Brain Tumor Awareness Month, the Glioblastoma Research Organization (GBMRO) invites you to participate in the "Go Grey in May 5K Your Way." Whether you choose to run, walk, bike, swim, or skate, your involvement will help us move closer to a world without glioblastoma.

Why Get Involved? Glioblastoma is among the most aggressive and challenging brain tumors to treat, affecting thousands of lives every year. Here are some facts that highlight the urgency and importance of our cause:

  • Incidence Rates: Annually, about 13,000 Americans are diagnosed with glioblastoma.

  • Survival Rates: The median survival rate is only 15 months post-diagnosis, emphasizing the critical need for advanced research and treatment options.

  • Research Progress: Every contribution to GBMRO fuels groundbreaking research and clinical trials, offering hope for enhanced treatments and ultimately, a cure.

Your Impact: By joining the "Go Grey in May 5K Your Way," you are not just participating in an event; you are advocating for and supporting vital research initiatives. Every dollar raised goes directly to:

  • Supporting Cutting-edge Research: Funding projects that have the potential to discover new treatments and improve existing therapies.

  • Empowering Doctors and Researchers: Providing grants and resources to those at the forefront of glioblastoma research.

  • Enhancing Patient and Community Support: We are dedicated to ensuring that patients, caregivers, and families affected by glioblastoma have access to the most current care options, treatment advancements, and a range of supportive resources tailored to meet the diverse needs of the entire glioblastoma community.

How to Participate:

  1. Register: Sign up individually or as a team. Every step, pedal, or stroke counts!

  2. Donate: If you can’t participate physically, consider making a donation. Every dollar has an impact.

  3. Spread the Word: Share your journey and encourage others to join or donate by using our campaign hashtags #GoGreyInMay and #5KYourWay on social media.
